Cancun event draws record participants

The Cancun Convention & Visitors Bureau marked the 25th anniversary of its annual event, the Cancun Travel Mart, with a 15% increase in attendance over 2011 numbers.


The recent conference drew participants from more than 20 countries representing 685 delegates.


Tour operators from the U.S joined with colleagues from many South American countries, Central America, Russia, France and the U.K.(kl)

United Nations’ World Tourism Organisation meets in Mexico

Mexico is prepared for the arrival of the ministers of tourism and national representatives attending the 94th Session of the Executive Council of the United Nations’ World Tourism Organisation.

The event will be held in the city of Campeche.

Representatives from the UNWTO agreed that Campeche is an excellent place to hold the event, because it showcases the attractions and cultural richness of Mexico’s Mayan World. (kl)

The Mexican carrier will operate flights three times a week with departures from Heathrow on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, and services from Mexico City on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
